Car Rules

	RULES BODY: 1979 or earlier American made bodies only. Post 1948 bodies must remove front fenders. Bodies must be OEM sheet metal and must be 3/4 of the original size with a metal roof. Old style 30 X 90 type bodies allowed. No sprint car type bodies permitted. Recommended Guidelines for Modified Body: Dimensions - Roof cannot be any narrower than 43" wide and no more than 48" in length from center of rear axle to front of roof. No more than 10 degrees pitch. The door length from center of rear axle to front of door cannot exceed 55" with a body width no more than 56" ALL BODIES WILL BE SUBJECT TO BOARD APPROVAL FRAME: Standard 2 X 4 frame or tube frames. On torsion suspension, the 2 X 4 must continue over the rear and down to incorporate the rear torsion rack. On coil over cars, the 2 X 4 must extend over the rear and join the down tube. Frame MUST be at least 28" inside width at rear of roll cage. REAR END & SUSPENSION: American made car and truck or quick change. No live rear axles. No adjustments within the cockpit (i.e. brakes, suspension, etc) No gas charged or adjustable shocks. FRONT ENDS: You must have an arch or straight front axle, A-frames are not permitted. Coil-over setup, Buggy spring and trailer bar are permitted. WHEELBASE: No less than 103 inches UNLESS using a 30 X 90 frame. WEIGHT RULE: 2,400 minimum with driver ENGINE: Cast iron blocks and heads, NO ALUMINUM BLOCKS OR HEADS. Aluminum heads on flatheads only CARBURETION: One 2 BBL or one 4 BBL, pump gas fuel permitted (No alcohol unless flathead). Fuel injection permitted for flatheads only. Flatheads may use multiple carbs. NO SUPERCHARGER OR TURBOCHARGER IGNITION: Any type distributor ignition and coil. Magnetos permitted only when using internal coil. No external coil or boxes. TRANSMISSION: Standard or Automatic, BERT or BRIM are permitted. ALL CARS MUST SELF START, ALSO MUST BE ABLE TO PULL FORWARD AND BACK UP FROM NEUTRAL WHILE RUNNING. BRAKES: must be functional on all four wheels. Dual master cylinders are allowed but only with non adjustable bias. WHEELS: must be held in place with 5 or more fasteners, no dummy studs. Must have 1/2 inch diameter wheel studs. Steel or aluminum wheels with or without bead locks are permitted. NO CARBON FIBER WHEELS. TIRES: No winter tread. Maximum tire width: 15 inches. FUEL: Pump gas or racing gas. ALCOHOL PERMITTED IN FLATHEADS ONLY No interior or corn pickers. No inside or outside mirrors or radios permitted
