SPORTSMAN AND MODIFIED CLASS RULES
1.  BODY: 1975 or earlier American made coupe or sedan, Post 1948 bodies must remove front fenders.  Bodies must be metal with metal roof and minimum 3/4 of original size.  Old style 30 X 90 type bodies allowed.  No sprint car type bodies permitted, car height cannot be lower than 55". 
2.  30 X 90 with Flathead or 6 cylinders are permitted.  If you are a new member of the Club and you have never driven before, you may run one year in the Sportsman class.  You will be reviewed halfway thru the season and then again at the end of the season, if you are ready to be moved, you will be moved into the Modified class.  You may run an Overhead V8 with 2BBL carburetor however, if you win a feature in your rookie year, you will be moved up to the Modified class, upon board review.  While you are running in the Sportsman class, you will be given Sportsman points.
3.  30 X 90:  With overhead V8 with 4BBL carburetor.
4.  FRAME:  Must be factory production modified for racing or 2X4 box frame, must extend from the front of the engine to behind the rear end.
5.  REAR END and SUSPENSION:  American made car and truck or quick change, no live rear axles.
     SPORTSMAN CLASS: Steel and Aluminum axle tubes, Coil over, Leaf Spring and Trailer Bars are permitted. NO TORSION BARS.
     MODIFIED CLASS: Steel or aluminum axle tubes.  Rear torsion bars are permitted; Coil over set-up, Leaf Spring and Trailer Bars are permitted.
6.  FRONT ENDS: NO TORSION BARS PERMITTED.  You must have an arch or straight axle.  Coil-over setup; Buggy spring and Trailer bar are permitted. 1948 & older stock type A-frames are permitted but at the discretion of the board.
7.  WHEELBASE: No less than 105 inches UNLESS using 30 X 90 frame. 
8.  WEIGHT RULE: 2,400 minimum with driver.  At the discretion of the board, your car can be weighed at any time if the board feels your car is too light.
9.  ENGINE: Cast block and heads, NO ALUMINUM BLOCKS OR HEADS.ALUMINUM HEADS ON FLATHEADS ONLY.  THERE IS NO LONGER A CUBIC INCH ENGINE RULE.  BIG BLOCK ENGINES ARE PERMITTED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD.
10.  CARBURETION:  One 2BBL on OHV V-8.  Make of carburetion optional NO 4BBL carburetions on V-8 IN - line OHV 6 cylinders are permitted to use one 4BBL.  Flatheads may use multiple carburetions.  Fuel injection is permitted on Flathead & 6 cylinders only. NO SUPERCHARGER or TURBOCHARGER PERMITTED.  4BBL manifold are permitted with 2BBL carburetion. (SPORTSMAN CLASS)
11.  IGNITION: Any type distributor ignition and coil.  MAGNETOS NOT PERMITTED
12.  TRANSMISSION
      SPORTSMAN: Standard or Automatic, standard Trans must use stock type single disc clutch. 
      MODIFIED: Standard or Automatic, but BRIM or RAM COUPLERS ARE PERMITTED.  '
All cars must self start, also must be able to pull forward and back up from neutral while running.
13.  BRAKES: Hydraulic brakes on all 4 wheels - must be in working order.  NO BRAKE BIAS OR SHUTOFF VALVES OR LIMITING CONTROLS OF ANY KIND lines from wheels to master cylinder.  DISC BRAKES ARE PERMITTED.
14.  WHEELS: Wheels must be held in place with 5 or more fasteners, no dummy studs.  Must have 1/2 inch diameter wheel studs.  Steel or aluminum wheels with or without bead locks are permitted.  NO CARBON FIBER WHEELS.
15.  TIRES: No winter tread.  Maximum tire width: 15 inches.
16.  FUEL: Pump gas or racing gas.  ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED IN FLATHEAD ONLY.
17.  No exterior wings except for OPEN SHOWS.  No interior or corn pickers and no inside or outside mirrors or radios are permitted.
